I attended the very first Google Teacher Academy in Mountain View, California in November of 2006.  It was a life-changing experience for me, mainly because it sparked my interest in helping my fellow educators get out from behind the podium and start getting their students learning in an active, meaningful way. It also allowed me to meet a number of fascinating and fun individuals with whom I still communicate and share regularly.
